The City of Sails

Sophtos is the largest port in all of Ra’el and roughly 90% of seafaring trade either comes into or goes out of the city. It has a merchant fleet of about 200 sea worthy ships, with a much smaller military fleet of about 50 battleships. The Links of Water have for countless generations focused on prosperity through controlling markets rather than territory or engaging in conquest or war. “If you can buy it, you can find it in Sopthos,” has long been a colloquial phrase in Ra’el.

Thanks to it’s bustling trade with the capital cities of Fomexet and Oolan, as well as being the only city with goods being imported from the continent of Krag, Sopthos has flourished and become the most metropolitan city in all of Ra’el. All races and almost all faiths can be found setting up shop in Sophtos, and the city has enjoyed a rather peaceful prosperity. This safe haven of cultures and trade has continued to grow under the close eye of The Link of Water as well as through the dealings of The Net, the powerful resident Merchant Guild.
