The World of Ra’el is a massive continent (roughly the size and shape of an upside down Australia) divided into four nations who worship the four elements of Air, Water, Fire, and Earth.
Ra’el is populated by Humans, Dwarves, Elves, and Halflings. It is rare for any of these races to ever meet a Half-Orc, and it is an extraordinary event if anyone were ever to meet a full-blooded Orc. The Orcs live on a distant continent called Krag. It lies southeast of Ra’el and across the treacherous Barren Sea.
These four nations have enjoyed relative peace for the past 50 years after The Guardians of Light stopped Alexander the Alchemist from starting a massive civil war in an event now called “The Four-Fold Deception.”
But Alexander the Alchemist was not finished with his sinister plans. 50 years after being thwarted by The Guardians of Light , Alexander ran into trouble with another group of adventurers. The A-Team. Loki slit Alexander’s throat after a death trap of the Alchemist’s failed to extract Loki’s soul. Little did Loki realize that this act would accidentally aid the miserable little gnome into turning into a Lich. As a Lich he continued his mad designs of revenge against Garl Glittergold, The Gnome God of Pranks.
Seeking entry into the far realms of reality, Alexander The Lich set his sights on The Prime Emogema. Legendary artifacts rumored to posses the power to open an ancient gate to the realms of the gods.
Ra’el has magical artifacts known as The Emogema, the most powerful crystal of each type of Emogema is called The Prime Emogema. There is a Prime Emogema of Sadness, Joy, etc. The Legend of The Emogema explains how and why these crystals of power were sealed away in 10 Temples spread across the continent.
